Bark-ology Dog Training 

1-2-1 Terms and Conditions 

Terms of business for 1-2-1 services effective 01/01/2022 

This is an offer to enter into a contract with Bark-ology for your participation in 1-2-1 Training Services. The following policies are in the interests of all participants and their dogs. By registering for a training package (physical or online) with Bark-ology you become a client of Bark-ology. 

Training packages 

1. Packages are 4, 6 or 8 weeks in length. They include an hour training lesson per week as per package purchased, support via phone or email within working hours and a simple training plan. 

2. All packages must be completed within 3 months of booking or any remaining appointments may be forfeited. 

3. Failing to attend your appointment or cancellation without 48 hours notice will result in the appointment being forfeited. 

Payment and Refunds 

4. Payment is required in full prior to the commencement of the initial appointment 

5. Refunds: Upon unlikely termination of the training program, no refunds of previously made payments will be offered once training sessions have started. 

Termination of contract. 

6. If I feel the working relationship is detrimental to myself and has become difficult I have the right to terminate this contract immediately and refund any remaining sessions paid for in advance.

7. Bark-ology trainers are not qualified to provide legal, medical, or nutrition advice and the information which may be provided is not intended as such. 

Results and Responsibilities 

8. The dog and any other person attending the appointment are the owner’s sole responsibility. Any injury, loss or damage to person or property that occurs whilst attending training is the responsibility of the dog owner. 

9. While every effort is given to reach your desired training goals, results are not guaranteed. Every individual’s success depends on many factors. Training requires repetition and lots of practice. All aspects of the training recommended by the instructor are important for the overall result. Without continuing with the training and practicing regularly, the results will not be as hoped. 

Photo / Video 

10. Photos may be taken during the training session for the use of Bark-ology’s internal training, social media, marketing or website use. Permission will be sought at the time of the appointment.

11. Complaints are an opportunity for improvement, which are embraced by our company. We take time to understand the customer's unique perspective, encourage open lines of communication to resolve any issues, and ensure any solution we have created solves the client’s problem long term and leaves them feeling listened to, valued and appreciated. If you are not entirely satisfied with the training provided please do not hesitate to contact us at info@bark-ology.co.uk and we will do our best to resolve the issue.

Class/Workshop Terms and Conditions 

Terms of business for group training class services effective 01/01/2022 

This is an offer to enter into a contract with Bark-ology for your participation in group training classes. The following policies are in the interests of all participants and their dogs. By registering for a training class (physical or online) with Bark-ology you become a client of Bark-ology. 

Prerequisites 

1. A phone call may be required prior to enrollment to classes if Bark-ology feels this would be beneficial 

2. If you have a sick dog or bitch in season, please do not bring them to class. In such circumstances Bark-ology welcomes you to attend without your dog. 

3. Dogs must be wearing a collar with a tag stating the name, address and postcode of the owner in line with UK law. 

4. Bark-ology recommends that you use a Y shaped, well fitting harness. 

Philosophy and Methods 

5. The client must agree to follow Bark-ology’s philosophy regarding force free training – this being that any attempts to intimidate or cause pain in the name of training will not be tolerated. 

6. Choke chains, shock collars, spray collars, pinch collars, sound aversion therapy etc. are not within our philosophy and are ineffective/damaging. The client will be advised not to use these devices. 

7. The instructor will always aim to work with the client and to meet their lifestyle but never to the detriment of the dog. As such the instructor may reserve the right to terminate with a client who fails to follow this agreement without refund. 

Class logistics 

8. During class, unless directed please keep your puppy or dog away from other dogs and under control at all times. 

9. Dogs are to be kept on lead unless instructed otherwise during a training exercise. 

10. Please encourage your dogs to relieve themselves before class. If your dog or puppy needs to toilet, please feel free to take your dog as directed at the start of the class. Please clean up after your dog and take it with you to dispose of. 

11. Bark-ology have the right to remove a dog and owner from the class if they feel the dog’s behaviour is not managed adequately by the owner, or the trainer feels that the dog is not coping, and is therefore putting their dog other participants at risk or in an unsuitable learning environment. 

Refunds 

12. Refunds cannot be given after the course has started. From one week before course start date refunds are only available in exceptional circumstances (as decided by Bark-ology).

Results and Responsibilities 

14. The dog and any other person attending the class are the owner’s sole responsibility. Any injury, loss or damage to person or property that occurs whilst attending class is the responsibility of the dog owner. 

15. Children are welcome and encouraged but they cannot attend without adult supervision if under 18 years old.

Training requires repetition and lots of practice. All aspects of the training recommended by the instructor are important for the overall result. Without continuing with the training and practicing regularly, the results will not be as hoped.
