Supporting rescue dogs and their families

Alongside classes, Bark-ology offers 1-1 training and behaviour support, particularly for newly adopted rescue dogs, dogs settling into a new home & life skills for nervous or overwhelmed dogs

We know bringing home a rescue dog can feel exciting but also overwhelming at times. Our aim is always to provide practical, kind and realistic support for both dogs and owners.

Karen lives with two overseas rescue dogs - Rupert the Podenco x Labrador from Spain and Mila a collie type from Romania. They both arrived with their complications and problems, particularly Mila who found herself in her third home - not including foster and kennels. It was through learning with them and a desperation to support her dogs in their new forever home that Karen embarked on her dog training career. This has left Karen with a lifelong passion for rescue dogs and so much experience with dogs who don’t necessarily find the world easy.

Whilst her many qualifications and academic background give Karen a strong knowledge of learning theory and the ways dogs think, it is her passion for rescue dogs and their families that really makes Karen stand out as a trainer in the Stourbridge/Kidderminster area. Her experiences with her own dogs combined with her scientific knowledge puts her in a special position to really understand your dog as well as helping her know how that dog needs to fit into your family in a way to fulfil them and you.
